Mr. Zissel serves as Court-Appointed Counsel in Adult Guardianship matters in Howard County and has tried many contested guardianship cases throughout the state.
Following his graduation from law school, Mr. Zissel served as law clerk to the Honorable Louis A. Becker of the Circuit Court for Howard County. During this clerkship Judge Becker handled all Guardianship cases in the county in addition to a full case rotation. This allowed Mr. Zissel to have hands on experience with all types of guardianship matters and provided him with valuable experience in this complex area of the law and allowed for insight into how the process works from the Court’s perspective.
Upon completion of his clerkship, Mr. Zissel worked as an insurance defense attorney, defending personal injury claims, auto accident claims and workers’ compensation claims District Court, Circuit Court and Commission levels. Handling cases from both sides of the table has given Mr. Zissel a distinct advantage as a Plaintiff’s attorney and helped hone the analytical and practical skills needed of a successful trial attorney.
In 2008, he joined Silverman Thompson Slutkin & White and regularly appears in courts through out the state on behalf of his clients.
