Jason Wasserman

Mr. Wasserman graduated from Miami University in 1998 with degrees in Business and Management Information Systems. After graduation, he worked as a Senior Consultant and Project Manager for "Big 4" consulting firms and an Internet start-ups, where he implemented and managed business systems for a number of Fortune 10 and Fortune 100 Corporations.

Mr. Wasserman returned to school to pursue a law degree and in 2004, graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. After graduating, he returned home to Baltimore to begin his career as an attorney. Prior to joining Silverman Thompson, he was a civil defense litigator with a large regional law firm. He represented numerous local and national corporations and insurance companies in the defense of personal injury, mass tort, toxic tort, and product liability claims on a National level, as well as in Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia.

Mr. Wasserman is active in the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA) and the Bar Association for Baltimore City (BABC), where he has held a number of leadership positions and served as a community advocate. Additionally, he has served as a long-standing member the Executive Council and an Officer for the BABC. From 2011-2012 he was elected to serve as the President of the BABC’s Young Lawyer’s Division. From 2013-2014 and 2017-2019, he was elected to serve on the Board of Governors for the MSBA. In addition to his involvement with the BABC, Mr. Wasserman has been heavily involved with the Defense Research Institute (DRI) for a number of years. He is presently on the Steering Committee for DRI's Product Liability Group.

• Seman v. Brown, et al. – $3,852,192.34 Verdict. This Baltimore City case involved a 46-year-old man from Essex, who was changing a flat tire on his van at 10 PM and was stopped within the wide shoulder on 695 with his hazards on. While he was crouched down jacking up the van, a Samuel Coraluzzo Company fuel tanker traveling at 60 mph entered the shoulder and hit him and his van head on. The plaintiff first saw the front of the semi coming at him as it was 5’ from him. He was hit, pulled under the truck, his foot was crushed by the tires, and his shirt became entangled with the vehicle causing him to be dragged for hundreds of feet beneath while the truck slowed to a stop. He was taken to Shock Trauma with 2 broken bones in his mangled left foot and multiple lacerations. Over the next 6 months several injuries developed and treatment ensued for his back, both knees, left hip, and right shoulder (rotator cuff tear). The jury, consisting of 4 men and 2 women, was out for exactly 2 hours and returned a verdict. Past Meds: $295,878.34; Future Meds: $931,414.00; Non-Economics: $2,625,000.00; Total: $3,852,192.34. November 2018.
• Begum et al. v. Ayers - $1,665,000 Settlement - This Washington County Case involved a couple in their 60s who pulled over to shoulder of I-70 to change drivers. The defendant, who was speeding and tailgating a tractor-trailer, was forced to bail out into the shoulder when the traffic ahead suddenly slowed. In doing so he strack and catastrophically injured the couple, especially the wife who was cracked between the defendant's truck and her SUV. This case was vigorously litigated for 3 years and the defendant and his insurance company, State Farm, were forced to settle for policy limits after Plaintiffs prevailed on their motion for Summary Judgment and won all other pre-trial motions.
• Kealy, et al. v. Winn – $875,000 Settlement - This Baltimore City case concerned a woman who was 25 weeks pregnant who was struck by a pickup truck while legally crossing the street within a crosswalk. She suffered a fracture to her femur and a head wound, as well as the emotional trauma of worrying about the health and welfare of her unborn child. This case settled 3 days prior to Trial. December 2018.
• Dick v. Lanahan, et al. - $175,000 Settlement – This Harford County case involved a vicious pit bull attack wherein a three-year old lost his ear and suffered facial scarring when he was bitten by a pit bull. This case settled on the eve of trial when the landlord and dog owners agreed to compensate the child. April 2018.
• Goodnick v. Floriza - $100,000 Plaintiff’s verdict. In this Prince George’s County case, a jury found the defendant liable for negligently striking the plaintiff with her vehicle while he was walking up an access ramp, thereby causing him serious injuries. April 2018.
• Johnson v. Liberty Mutual - $500,000 Plaintiff’s verdict. In this under-insured motorist coverage case, a Baltimore City jury found that Liberty Mutual was responsible for compensating the plaintiff for a facial scar he suffered as a result of a car negligently striking his bicycle and throwing him to the ground thereby causing him serious injuries. November 2017.
• McLaughlin, et al. v. Solo Cup - $1,200,000 Settlement. This Baltimore County case involved an electrician who suffered serious bodily injury, cognitive impairment, hearing loss, and burns as a result of an electrical explosion when he encountered high voltage equipment that improperly identified as such. February 2017.
• Anonymous v. Anonymous - $775,000 Settlement – This federal case involved a large ornate window covering that fell out of its alcove onto a woman, nearly crushing her to death. This matter settled for a large sum after a lengthy period of litigation.
• Willis v. McGee - $78,000 Plaintiff's verdict. In this case a Baltimore City Judge held in Arbitration that the Defendant negligently operated her motor vehicle, which resulted in a collision, thereby causing the Plaintiff serious and permanent injury. 2012
• Loudermilk v. Meros - $66,570.09 Plaintiff's verdict. In this case a Baltimore County jury found that the defendant negligently operated her motor vehicle, which resulted in a collision, thereby causing the plaintiff serious and permanent injury. 2012
• Robinson v. Anderson - $162,597.09. Plaintiff's verdict. In this case a Baltimore City Judge found that defendants failed to confine their two pit bulls, which escaped from their yard and viciously mauled the plaintiff, thereby causing her serious permanent injuries and disfiguration. 2012
• Klint v. Hyatt Hotels Corporation of Maryland, et al. – $400,000 Plaintiff's verdict. In this case a Baltimore City jury found that Hyatt negligently failed to properly inspect and maintain its sand volleyball court, which caused the plaintiff serious and permanent injury. December 2009.
