Arthur McGreevy is of Counsel at Silverman, Thompson, Slutkin, and White LLC and focuses on State Criminal Defense having tried thousands of cases in Circuit and District Court in Baltimore County, Howard County and Baltimore City.

PROFESSIONAL HISTORY

Upon graduation from the University of Maryland Law School Mr. McGreevy was appointed to the position of Assistant State’s Attorney for Baltimore County, a position he held for seven years.   During that time he prosecuted thousands of defendants at the District, Juvenile, and Circuit Court levels. Amongst the cases he prosecuted included several high profile cases murders including the stabbing death of a young man at the Towson Mall.

In 2006 Mr. McGreevy left the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office to run the winning campaign for now Howard County Executive Ken Ulman.  Mr. McGreevy was chosen for the position of Assistant Howard County Solicitor.  He principally served as the counsel for the Howard County Police Department. In addition he advised the Office of Inspections Licenses and Permits, and the Office of Consumer Affairs.  Mr. McGreevy also acted as the Labor Commissioner for Howard County Government negotiating several labor contracts.

In 2008, prior to his association with STSW, Mr. McGreevy spent five months in Beijing, China learning Mandarin Chinese and studying the Chinese legal system.
