Silverman Thompson Files United States Supreme Court Brief on Behalf of MADD

The landmark case of Paroline v. United States (Supreme Court of the U.S., No. 12-8561) is the first legal challenge ever brought in the U.S. Supreme Court by a victim of crime. The issue in the case is whether Amy, a victim of alleged child sexual abuse whose abuse was videotaped and distributed on the Internet, is entitled to receive counseling costs from a pedophile convicted of possessing images depicting Amy’s abuse.

Led by managing partner Steve Silverman, a team of lawyers from Silverman Thompson|LLC filed a brief (pursuant to Paroline v. United States, U.S. Supreme Court No. 12-8561) on behalf of Amicus Curiae Mothers Against Drunk Driving (“MADD”), the largest victim-services organization in the country.
